Dear Sunset Lane Seahawks,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My hope is that you had an enjoyable summer break with family and friends and that you are ready to embark on another successful school year together. Sunset Lane continues to hold its prestigious Gold Ribbon School title, in addition to several other accolades. Over the course of this past school year, Sunset Lane received Level 1 High Reliability School Certification for creating and maintaining a safe and collaborative school culture. We once again received certification as a Common Sense Digital Citizenship School for our integration of digital literacy and digital citizenship across all grade levels. Most recently, Sunset Lane received the Silver PBIS Implementation Award for creating conditions that maximize positive outcomes for all students. I am beyond proud of our staff, students, parents, and school community for receiving these well-deserved recognitions. Go Seahawks!
Sunset Lane continues to focus on educating the whole child and finding innovative ways to make learning relevant and meaningful for our students. We are committed to our rich tradition of excellence and student success, and will be diligent in creating optimal learning conditions for all. Our goal is to achieve Level 2 High Reliability School Certification, which will ensure that effective teaching is occurring in all classrooms. We will continue to let learning grow, while also building excellence as we work towards continuous improvement.
As a friendly reminder, please make sure that you have completed your PowerSchool Registration as soon as possible. It is imperative that you do so to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child. We are hopeful that this process will be completed in a timely manner so that there is no impact on your child’s education. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please join me in welcoming our new Sunset Lane staff members. We are excited to have Ms. Jody Gardner as our assistant principal. Joining our 1st grade team is Ms. Robyn Nakamura and returning to our 4th-6th grade SDC classroom is Ms. Wendy Sobodowski. We are looking forward to another great year together! For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (714) 447-7750 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
With warm regards,
Tracy Gyurina, Ed.D.
