Dear Sunset Lane Seahawks,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. On behalf of the entire Sunset Lane staff, we hope that you had a wonderful summer break, and we are excited for another great school year together. In accordance with Governor Newsom’s orders, and to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and community, we will be starting the 2020-2021 school year in a full distance learning (online) format.
We are looking forward to our continued partnership between Sunset Lane staff and families as we embark on this journey of distance learning together. Unlike the spring, our new distance learning format brings with it specific requirements and guidelines for daily instructional minutes, daily interactions amongst teachers and students, expectations for attendance, participation, and engagement, embedded social emotional learning lessons, designated time for interventions and accommodations, and more. We thank you in advance for your patience and support as we navigate these new expectations and design a robust program that supports a positive learning experience for all of our students.
Whether we are learning in person or via a distance learning format, please note that at Sunset Lane we pledge to be a community of learners who demonstrate our academic and personal best by collaborating, showing kindness, and working with integrity. We will continue to focus on educating the whole child and finding innovative ways to make learning relevant and meaningful for our students. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that our students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs are met within a safe distance learning environment. For more information on our distance learning program, including instructional minutes and daily schedules, please click the distance learning tab on our school website.

With warm regards,
